DTC3290 is a high performance caching SCSI host adapter for use in EISAcomputers. DTC3290 supports 32-bit memory addressing, 32-bit datatransfers and bus master burst data transfers. An on-board intelligentSCSI chip provides 3.3 Mbytes/sec asynchronous data transfer and 5.0Mbytes/sec synchronous data transfer across the SCSI bus. A 15-byteinternal FIFO stores SCSI commands and messages, significantly reducingSCSI command overhead.DTC3290 employs a mailbox architecture, minimizing host interaction andmaximizing data throughput. The mailbox architecture supports multiplecommand threads, allowing the DTC3290 to execute multiple commands.DTC3290 also supports data scattering and gathering through the mailboxinterface, reducing host interface overhead.
